Found myself in the city near Picadilly, don't really know how I got here..Sep 22

Oh this is gotta be the best life! I love being a missionary. It's so grand and I don't know what I would do without my service here in England. It's such a major part of my life. I wish I was better at e-mailing but I am not very good. When I sit down to write e-mails I never what to say! RUBBISH.

We went to Wythenshawe this week for the "all elder-training." I wasn't sure what to expect from this meeting.. I thought we might all be getting rebuked for something.. but actually it was all focused on the atonement of Jesus Christ. It was the 3rd most powerful meeting I have ever been to. I just loved it. I know that it was something we all needed. I know that the atonement is so important. We need to find ways to use it every day. 

I have been on a few adventures this week. Teaching Romanian gypsy's, Slovaks, and Hungarians with broken English. We did service for a member, taught people how to do their family history, took call ins from the district leaders, went to a stake ward mission leader training, I sang in sacrament meeting, gave a talk, played the organ, went to some amazing members  homes for tea appointments, made some new friends, was spit on, tried to get involved in a charity, sang at a reservoir, chucked a couch in a tip, just totally random things ... I mean heck.. The list goes on and on.

Oldham the Great. Sep 15

Dear Family and Friends,

This week has been.. very interesting to say the least! haha. I have been really lucky to meet some amazing people! It's great to be back in Manchester and to serve around some really stalwart members here. I love my new companion he is so nice and is a hard worker! His name is Elder Rasmussen. He is wonderful. 

So basically, right after transfer meeting we're driving to the mission presidents house and what do you know..  A SQUIRREL just JUMPS out in front of the car and... the rest.. is history. So that was me and Elder Rasmussen's first five minutes together. I am guessing you can imagine how the rest of the week went. Haha. ;) 

But, I want you all to know that I had the best experience this far on my mission this Friday. I had the opportunity to baptize our friend Hanna! She is amazing! It was such a spiritual baptism and it was one that the Heavens definitely smiled down upon. 

I love my mission. I love it more than anything in the world. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I just hope that I can serve and love as many people as possible. I love you all.

Well, I am being transferred.. I got a phone call from the boss and he said that it's time to be going! But, you know I am happy and excited. So where am I going.....

OLDHAM. I am going to Oldham? Does anyone understand how crazy this is? This is really really crazy! For a few reasons.

1) ALL OF MY FAMILY HISTORY COMES FROM THERE.

2) It's kind of basically in between Middleton and Whitefield.. hahahhaha. Going back to the city

3) I have actually served in that area on exchanges

4) my companion plays the violin.

Anyways. So ya. It's been crazy. I am super sad to leave though :( SO SO SO SAD. I loved Gaerwen so much. It was a blessing serving here.

Woooooh. I love my life. Sept 1, 2014

This is my district and we took this photo in about 2 minutes! haha so it's not very organized. But I love them. Elder Humpherys, Hammond, White, Hulterstrom, Rolfson, and Weston. All of them. They are amazing!!  wooo!

This week was really good. Let's see... Oh I have a story for yall!

The highlight of my last week was when I knocked on 1 door and found 2 new investigators named Rachel and Dylan. They are wonderful. I said 2 words "We're missionaries.." And then Rachel cut me off and professed her new found faith in the born-again religion. We shared with her the joy she felt as she has come closer to Christ through her new found faith and hope. We then began to teach our purpose as missionaries and she let us into her home. We taught her and her partner, Dylan, about the message of the restoration and they found the Book of Mormon really exciting. They promised to read it and to pray to know if it is true! Can't wait to see them on Friday. When we left she said "I NEVER open my door because of the people 'round here. It's a dodgy place. I understand now why I opened the door for you." So grateful to have met wonderful people and they have been prepared so well to receive the message of the restoration!! WONDERFUL.

Well, I don't have much to say now. Except I want to share with you my feelings about being a missionary. I love every single second of my mission. It is sacred to me. It is special. It is something that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I know that I have been prepared for my whole life to serve this mission. I will be forever grateful for it.

A weekly update- August 25, 2014

 

This is one of my best friends! His name is Kris and he has been such a great person and he so prepared for the gospel! We gave a blessing to his niece and it was such a great experience!! I love teaching him and his girlfriend Louise!

HEEYYY! These are my Welsh Peeps! I love working with these people. We have fun. We talk about the gospel. And that kitten's name is YODA. Yes. Yoda. I love it. 

Don't ask why we are wearing helmets. This is me and Elder Hammond! We are IDABRO's. Hahah. We are having so much fun serving in Gaerwen together. We like going to our Ward Mission leaders house, we do! 

This is what we eat for tea. It is delicious indian curry!!! IT'S SO GOOOOOOOD!

Meet some of my best friends! My companion Elder Hulterstrom, Elder Hammond, and Elder Rolfson. Wow. I just love serving with these 4! They are amazing. I am just so grateful for my time. We went to the national slate museum last p-day and it is way more exciting then it sounds..

I know it's her 35th birthday :) She is so lucky! :) Thanks for being the best Mum in the whole entire world! I wouldn't be here without her.

So we had an amazing week! There are amazing things happening here and I just wish I could tell you them all! We have 2 investigators set for baptism and they are incredible! I absolutely love them and I am so grateful for them! I'll never forget the experiences I've shared as I have taught them. You know it is one of the best feelings to have someone understand with their heart what Jesus Christ did for them. I was able to see that in someone this week and as they realized it, I learned more about my Saviour then I did before. It was an amazing feeling. Don't we all want magical experiences like that? I can promise you if you just invited someone to learn about this gospel and the joy and peace that it can bring your testimony of the Saviour will increase faster than any other thing!

On another note we had a beautiful sunset last night and I just had to photograph this gem:

Gaerwen Area. (A.K.A. Heaven on Earth.) August 11, 2014

​First of all: I AM NO LONGER A TENNAGER! ahhhhh!!

Yup! You guessed it! 20 years old this week. I can't believe how fast time flies! I mean seriously. 2 years ago I was about to start university? What the crazy!? But now here I am. In the best place in the world. Where miracles happen every. single. day. I just absolutely love being here and serving these wonderful people!

These are some of my best friends. Otherwise known as the DREAM TEAM. Elder Hulterstrom, Elder Humpherys, Elder Hammond and Elder Rolfson! Wow! What a wonderful set of missionaries we have serving here in the Gaerwen Ward. I love these people! They are so great. We all work really hard and definitely have our "eye single to the glory of God."

We had some really great things this week. There was a baptism on my birthday (not of someone I taught unfortunately..) but we took Hanna to it and she loved it! She is amazing and I feel so lucky to teach her and all of our other investigators! Our other friend, Kris, read and prayed about the Book of Mormon and he found out it was true! I am soo happy for him! Wonderful things going on!

And here I am with all of my nieces and nephews silhouettes that they sent me for my birthday! I love them! :) THANKS! :)

And my last gem! Here is me and a few new friends. I feel like I am back at Pine Basin! Which is almost as great as being a missionary. :)
